These past few days in India have been impactful in the technological space especially apps which we use for social media, entertainment, and utilities.
Our reliance on these apps was tremendous and the ban by the Indian government on the popular ones made by the Chinese has impacted us greatly.
The biggest blow in the app ban has been TikTok. The app that is world-famous for its viral short 15 second videos.
However, keeping in mind our country’s new motto of Atmanirbhar in being self-sufficient and self-reliant, Zee5 has been ahead and at its second anniversary in February 2020 announced the launch of HiPi.
Originally being named as Hypershots, it changed to HiPi keeping in mind the short video format content that the current generation likes.
The idea behind HiPi came from the vision of a youthful and carefree planet where everyone can express themselves with freedom and confidence; A fun place where no one fears to be judged and is unapologetic.
They are also driven by the vision that encourages self-expression and aims at unlocking the potential talent that our country has by inviting talented and diverse content creators who are seeking a platform that encourages creativity and paves the way to stardom.
With HiPi you can make content for up to 90 seconds and do not need to worry about the 15-second time frame.
HiPi surely is going to be the place where Indians can create the most ingenious and exciting content with the help of state-of-the-art features. It will be the one place where fans get their entertainment and storytellers can let their creativity flow.
Currently, it is being launched as free but HiPi’s ad-supported format would give way to a subscription-driven service integrating that is more closely with ZEE5. The company has a vision that they do not want their subscribers to come to Zee5 for only long format entertainment but also for short format and with HiPi they see the vision of “super app entertainment” becoming true.
