Everyone in India as well as abroad is well aware of the biggest fashion event that happens in India every year i.e. the Lakme Fashion Week. It, being a premium fashion event, showcases some mind blowing designs by fashion designers and is a treat for not only the audience but the world at large.
This year too the Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2016 began with a bang and it was opened on 29th March,2016 at Mehboob Studios, Bandra by none other than Manish Malhotra, who is India’s most successful, talented and creative fashion designer.
Manish Malhotra kick started the Lakme Fashion Week with his Spring Summer 2016 Haute Couture Collection inspired by “Elements” in coordination with the #LYF Smartphones which are derived from nature’s elements of Earth, Water, Wind and Flame.
Manish, keeping the four elements in mind had the runaway for the show created as the “Tree Of Life“with bird installations from the roof and the sound of birds chirping. This background was perfect for the pace of the show as the models walked down the runaway stunning each of the audience with the elaborate, exquisite and elements inspired spring summer collection.
The collection showcased some amazing summer wedding designs which were traditional yet modern in its style. It truly reflected the four elements of nature i.e. Earth, Water, Wind and Flame.
True to his words and as quoted by him, Manish kept the collection to showcase the celebration of nature having global influences in the cuts, gowns, jumpsuits etc. while giving the Indian silhouettes a whole new avatar.
The colors of the collections too were very pretty and very summer, which perfectly blended with the Spring Summer season. The collection was apt and was in sync with #LYFSmartphones ideology of “Fashion Meets Technology” which is set to redefine the face of fashion and technology.
The showstoppers of the show were Jacqueline Fernandez and Arjun Kapoor who added their own glam to the opening ceremony. Jacqueline wore a light pink lehenga and looked absolutely stunning and gorgeous. Arjun Kapoor wore a navy blue colored sherwani and a silvery grey jacket, and he definitely stole some hearts with his cute smile and look.
The show ended on a great note as it presented in totality how “Fashion Meets Technology”with Manish Malhotra’s collection and the nature inspired LYF smartphones.
