Hi guys!

Today’s review is about the Maybelline Clear Glow Bright Benefit Cream. BB creams have taken over the cosmetic world like a storm these past few years and have become a staple in the vanity of many college girls and working women alike.

The reason why people are so open to the idea of a bb cream is because of its multipurpose nature. A product that preps, primes, moisturises and gives a radiant effect along with SPF benefits is a must for women on the go. BB creams also have sheer to natural coverage, unlike foundations which not everyone would prefer to wear on a daily basis.

CLAIMS: The Maybelline Clear Glow Bright Benefit Cream claims to be an 8-in-one skin transformer with micro minerals.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

The BB cream comes in a small teal coloured plastic tube with a metallic pink cap which I found really cute. It has a narrow nozzle for dispensing the product. The cap screws on nice and tight and this makes it travel friendly and compact.

MY EXPERIENCE WITH THE PRODUCT:

The consistency of the product is neither too thick, nor too runny. It has a subtle fragrance which fades on application, so people with sensitive noses can use it with ease.

Since I have combination-oily skin, I always moisturise before using the product. This product tends to cling to dry patches, so exfoliation and moisturising is a must. People with combination skin should moisturise before, while people with oily skin can skip the moisturiser if they prefer.

I take a coin sized amount of the product and dot it all over my cleansed face, including the neck, and blend using circular motions. A single layer of this product gives the skin a natural glow and a demi matte finish.

It does not leave a white cast, but requires a little effort to blend. It gives light coverage, but does not cover inflamed acne, only minor blemishes.

This product did not break me out, nor did it aggravate and existing acne that I had. After setting my face with some pressed powder, it lasts me around 2-3 hours, after which it slowly starts to fade.

PROS

  1. Travel friendly and compact
  2. Gives a natural glow
  3. Demi matte finish- did not make my skin greasy
  4. Subtle fragrance
  5. Did not clog pores, cause breakouts or aggravate existing acne.
  6. Easily available

CONS:

  1. Lasts only around 2-3 hours
  2. Does not cover major blemishes
  3. Tends to cling to dry patches
  4. Limited shade selection- I found 3 shades too little for a country with such varying skin tones
  5. If used on a daily basis, the quantity is a bit less. It would hardly last 20 days.

Over all the product does live up to some of its claims. It does brighten the skin and give a healthy natural glow. It evens skin tone to some extent. However it conceals only minor blemishes, so it won’t help people who are looking to cover up major blemishes.

It is a really good product for people who are beginning to venture into makeup and do not want the heavy coverage and blending that a foundation requires.

My rating for this product would be 4/5.
